Walking for Fitness in Brixham

Walking is a simple, cost-free, and accessible way to enhance physical health. It effectively builds stamina, aids in weight loss, and improves heart health without the need for extensive exercise sessions. Just a brisk 10-minute walk daily contributes to the recommended 150 minutes of weekly exercise for adults. Walking fast enough to talk but not sing indicates the appropriate pace for health benefits. We've created a set of walks designed to get you out there and more active. Brixham has the advantage of an interesting and varied landscape allowing you to get fit and enjoy our amazing town at the same time.

Each walk has been graded for exertion, accessibility and distance. Remember to stay safe and well-hydrated on all of our walks. Don't forget to pack water, a  snack and when the weather's good, plenty of suncream. Some of these walks venture into the countryside and can get a little muddy or rocky. A good set of walking shoes will be required for some of our more challenging outings.

The NHS have plenty of good advice for getting started with walking at this link.
