In Wolborough House (not open to the public)

Painted in 2024  by Mrs Murals

Commissioned by Wolborough House

Renowned Devon artist Ellie Johnson, aka Mrs Murals, has painted a private commission for Wolborough House, of the view of Brixham harbour & breakwater, as seen from the house.

Wolborough House was built in 1910 for Mr Charles Hellier, a wealthy trawler fleet owner who paid £48 thousand guineas at the time to build this wonderful period mansion. He employed only the finest craftsmen and used only the finest materials in this project which are still apparent today. The house has been lovingly and painstakingly maintained to a very high standard over the years thus retaining Wolborough’s unique character and charm.

The house was used by the Americans troops during WW2 as the Command Centre for the D-Day run up and embarkations.. It is now a luxury holiday let.
