‘Those that go down to the sea in ships’

The mural is based on the statue at the Gloucester Fisherman's Memorial, Massachusetts, USA. The statue was designed by he English sculptor Leonard Craske (1882–1950) and created in 1925.

The monument is a tribute to the hard working fishermen and a salute to all the sailors that never returned to port.  It depicts a helmsman at a ships wheel steering through a storm.
