The wall of the engineering firm was chosen for the Adela fishing trawler mural because the company has long supplied the needs of Bixham boats and skippers.

 

An iconic building within the Brixham fishing industry, it is now owned by Shaun Hubbard, who took it over from his father Eric Hubbard, who continued from his father, Wilf Hubbard.  Wilf bought it in 1948, supplying the fleet with engine oils, filters, gaskets, jubilee clips, anodes, screws, bolts and steel.

 

Eric offered his skills doing engineering tasks, specialising on Gardner engines, and was a very well known face in Brixham, using his lathes to create parts for the fishing boats,
