Brixham's Breakwater provides an ideal walk for those of all abilities. The route is flat and there are no steps or steep inclines. Brixham's Breakwater is almost exactly 1/2 mile long and is a great way to increase the heart rate by strolling a bit faster at a pace you are comfortable with. Views across Brixham's harbour landscape and the wider Torbay are always to hand.

At 2.2 miles in length, it can be done in an hour or less depending upon your level of fitness. The walk is paved for its entirety and there are plenty of benches and opportunities for rest if you need to take a breather. If you want to extend it further then why not do multiple laps of the Breakwater? Each lap is approximately 1 mile in length.

Finally, this walk takes you to Breakwater Beach. This beach is used daily all year round by those who enjoy a sea swim. It is sheltered and safe and an ideal opportunity to dip your toes or the rest of you in some cool refreshing seawater. Our sea swimming community is friendly and welcoming. If you need any advice or encouragement then just ask a swimmer on the beach and I'm sure they'd love to help.
